TO AMEND ACT 587 OF 1992, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO CHEROKEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT 1, SO AS TO REAPPORTION THE SPECIFIC ELECTION DISTRICTS FROM WHICH MEMBERS OF THE GOVERNING BODY OF CHEROKEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT 1 MUST BE ELECTED BEGINNING WITH SCHOOL TRUSTEE ELECTIONS IN 2012, AND TO PROVIDE FOR DEMOGRAPHIC INFORMATION IN REGARD TO THESE NEWLY DRAWN ELECTION DISTRICTS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 2 of Act 587 of 1992 is amended to read:
"Section 2. (A) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, beginning with school trustee elections in 2012, the nine defined single-member election districts from which members of the board of trustees of Cherokee County School District 1 must be elected are as follows: shown on Cherokee County School District 1 map S-21-00-12 as maintained in the Division of Research and Statistics of the State Budget and Control Board.
(B) The demographic information shown on this map is as follows:

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
