TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE PAUL M. DORMAN HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD TEAM FOR ITS IMPRESSIVE WIN OF THE CLASS AAAA 2010 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE, AND TO HONOR THE PLAYERS AND COACHES ON AN OUTSTANDING SEASON.
Whereas, track and field is the purest form of athletic competition; and
Whereas, the team was made up of a diverse and dynamic group of young ladies who rallied together to accomplish their goals of winning a second straight Region Championship, winning the first Spartanburg County Championship in girls track and field in sixteen seasons, and winning the first team state championship for girls track and field in school history; and
Whereas, the Dorman High School girls track and field team boasted All-Region selections in eight events in addition to All-State selections for Tynesha Agnew, Ashley Beach, Ashley Davis, Christina Davis, Demetria Edgecombe, Grayson Ford, Ashley Hrubala, Katie Inclan, Mykala Scott, and Nia Wilson on its way to capturing the state championship; and
Whereas, Lady Cavaliers Head Coach LaShun McGreer was recognized as Region II-AAAA Girls Track Coach of the Year, as well as Coach of the Year by the High School Sports Report; and
Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the South Carolina House of Representatives pauses to recognize the accomplishments and dedication of these fine athletes and their coaches and to congratulate them on their success. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and commend the Dorman High School varsity girls track and field team for its impressive win of the Class AAAA 2010 State Championship title, and honor the athletes and coaches on an outstanding season.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Coach LaShun McGreer of the Dorman High School girls track and field team.
