A BILL

TO AMEND ACT 191 OF 1991, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE FAIRFIELD COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT, SO AS TO REVISE THE BOUNDARIES OF THE SEVEN SINGLE-MEMBER DISTRICTS FROM WHICH MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF FAIRFIELD COUNTY ARE ELECTED.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Act 191 of 1991, as last amended by Act 431 of 2002, is further amended by adding a new section after Section 1 to read:

"Section    1A.    (A)    Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 1 of this act, beginning with school trustee elections held at the time of the 2014 general election, vacancies on the seven-member Board of Trustees of the School District of Fairfield County must be filled in the manner provided by law from the seven single-member districts as defined on the Board of Trustees of the School District of Fairfield County map S-39-00-14, as maintained by the Office of Research and Statistics of the State Budget and Control Board, or its successor. Members must be elected one trustee each from the seven defined single-member districts.

(B)    The demographic information shown on map S-39-00-14 is as follows:
