The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:
Our thought for today is from Exodus 20:1: "Then God spoke all these words: I am the Lord your God."
Let us pray. Almighty God, may we always remember that You do not need us to fight for prestige or honor or for more earthly materials. You expect us to serve others as You have served us. Give rest and relaxation for the weekend and refresh us with energy and strength for the next week. Bless our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, staff, and all who make all this work possible. Protect our defenders of freedom, at home and abroad, as they protect us. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of our brave warriors. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. Amen.
