The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:

Our thought for today is from Lamentations 3:25: "The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul that seeks Him."
Let us pray. Lord of heaven and earth, direct our thoughts, words, and deeds, so they reflect Your love and caring for those who are hurting, those in need, those who are sick or grieving. Be with each of these, Your people, and guide them in the way they should go. Grant us all a safe, restful and relaxing weekend and bless us with joy to celebrate life. Send Your blessings upon our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, staff, and all who labor in these Halls of Government. Protect our defenders of freedom, at home and abroad, as they protect us. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of our brave warriors. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
