Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:
Our thought for today is from Galatians 6:9: "So, let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up."
Let us pray. Lord God, guide us as we labor over the work to be accomplished. Give us strength to continue on the journey You have assigned us. Grant us Your peace as we strive to do what is right and pleasing in Your sight. Bless those who are in leadership positions in our State and Nation. Protect our defenders of freedom, at home and abroad, as they protect us. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of our brave warriors. Lord, hear our prayer. Amen.
After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
