The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:
Our thought for today is from Jeremiah 3:15: "I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding."
Let us pray. Lord God, give us a discerning mind and the courage to wait upon You. You have brought us to this place, You have led us by Your spirit. Give each Representative a listening ear and the choice to take the right steps with eyes wide open. Bless our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, staff, and all who give of their time and talents to support the efforts made by this Assembly. Protect our defenders of freedom, at home and abroad, as they protect us. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of our brave warriors. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. Amen.
