THE COMMITTEE ON MEDICAL,

MILITARY, PUBLIC AND MUNICIPAL AFFAIRS

To whom was referred a Bill (H. 3356) to amend Section 25-1-350, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, relating to the general powers and duties of the Adjutant General, so as to require, etc., respectfully

REPORT:

That they have duly and carefully considered the same and recommend that the same do pass with amendment:

Amend the bill, as and if amended, Section 25-1-350(2), as contained in SECTION 1, by deleting item (2) in its entirety and inserting:

/    (2)    keep rosters of all active, reserve and retired officers of the militia of the State, keep in his office all records and papers required to be kept and filed therein and submit to the Governor and General Assembly each year a printed annual report of Report of the Adjutant General of the State of South Carolina that includes the operations and conditions of the National Guard of South Carolina; /

Renumber sections to conform.

Amend title to conform.

EXPLANATION OF IMPACT:

The Adjutant General reports this bill would have no fiscal impact on the General Fund of the State or federal and/or other funds.

A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 25-1-350, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE GENERAL POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE ADJUTANT GENERAL, SO AS TO REQUIRE THE ADJUTANT GENERAL TO SUBMIT AN ANNUAL REPORT TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 25-1-350(2) of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"(2)    keep rosters of all active, reserve and retired officers of the militia of the State, keep in his office all records and papers required to be kept and filed therein and submit to the Governor and General Assembly each year a printed annual report of the operations and conditions of the National Guard of South Carolina;"

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
