TO AMEND ACT 930 OF 1970, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR KERSHAW COUNTY, SO AS TO REVISE THE SPECIFIC ELECTION DISTRICTS FROM WHICH THE MEMBERS OF THE KERSHAW COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES SHALL BE ELECTED BEGINNING WITH SCHOOL TRUSTEE ELECTIONS IN 2014, AND TO PROVIDE FOR DEMOGRAPHIC INFORMATION IN REGARD TO THESE NEWLY DRAWN ELECTION DISTRICTS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 1 of Act 930 of 1970, as last amended by Act 202 of 2005, is further amended to read:
"Section 1B. Beginning with the election conducted in 2006, those members must be elected from the nine election districts by the qualified electors of that district which are shown on the official map designated as S-55-00-05 prepared by and on file with the Office of Research and Statistics of the State Budget and Control Board. The Office of Research and Statistics of the State Budget and Control Board shall provide an official copy of the map to the school district and the Kershaw County Board of Elections and Registration. The official map must not be changed except by an act of the General Assembly or by a court of competent jurisdiction. Notwithstanding another provision of law, beginning with the school trustee elections in 2014, successors to the members of the governing body of the Kershaw County School District Board of Trustees must be elected in the manner provided by law from one of the applicable single-member election districts of the nine defined single-member election districts as shown on Kershaw County School District Map S-55-00-13 as maintained in the Office of Research and Statistics of the State Budget and Control Board. The demographic information shown on this map is as follows:

C. The boundaries of the Kershaw County School District are not altered by the provisions of this act. These school district lines are as defined by law and any census blocks which may be divided are done so only for statistical purposes and to establish a population base."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
