TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND PASTOR WINDELL RODGERS FOR HIS FAITHFUL SERVICE TO MOUNT CALVARY BAPTIST CHURCH IN GREENVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA, AND TO CONGRATULATE HIM AND HIS CONGREGATION FOR FIFTEEN YEARS OF MINISTRY TOGETHER.
Whereas, in June 1998, Reverend Windell Rodgers became Pastor of Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina; and
Whereas, Mount Calvary was founded nearly one hundred years ago; and
Whereas, Pastor Rodgers was born in Columbia, S.C. to Susanne Gaymon Rodgers and the late William Augustus Rodgers. He is a graduate of North Greenville University with a bachelor's degree and master's degree in Christian Ministry and he became licensed to preach in 1994; and
Whereas, he served as an Associate Pastor of Reedy River Missionary Baptist Church in Mauldin, South Carolina before joining Mount Calvary; and
Whereas, he is always active in his community with NAACP, Greenville Connect, and the UNCF Upstate Gala and as a moderator with the Enoree River Baptist Association; and
Whereas, Pastor Rodgers also serves as the Director of Camp Enoree, and he has tremendously enjoyed foreign mission trips to Mexico and Honduras; and
Whereas, Pastor Rodgers and his wife, Patricia, have been married forty years and they are the proud parents of three children: Baash, Wendi, and Marcia, and they have one grandchild, Nicholas; and
Whereas, the members of the Senate are grateful for the dedication and commitment of Pastor Windell Rodgers and for the significant service he has rendered to his church and community. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the South Carolina Senate recognizes and commends Pastor Windell Rodgers for his faithful service to Mount Calvary Baptist Church and congratulates him and his congregation for fifteen years of ministry together.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Pastor Windell Rodgers.
