VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR DR. LINDA VELDHEER FOR HER DISTINGUISHED CAREER AND CONTRIBUTIONS TO PERSONS WITH TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA.
Whereas, the members of the Senate are pleased to honor Dr. Linda Veldheer, director of the Head and Spinal Cord Division of the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs and member of the executive committee of the South Carolina Brain Injury Leadership Council for her leadership within the state promoting a range of services that empower persons with traumatic brain injury; and
Whereas, throughout her career, Dr. Veldheer has been instrumental in attracting federal funds of over $1 million to assist with a broad range of service and training needs within South Carolina. These included teacher education regarding the needs of brain injury, collaboration between state agencies, and a public awareness campaign regarding the lifespan needs of persons with brain injury; and
Whereas, as an active member of the Brain Injury Association of South Carolina, Dr. Veldheer provided her expertise and support in areas such as the professional development conference, outreach, prevention, information and referral. She served many years as a well-respected voice for the community of individuals with brain injuries; and
Whereas, it is fitting and proper to honor the extraordinary contributions of Dr. Veldheer as a community leader, wife, and mother. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the Senate, by this resolution, recognize and honor Dr. Linda Veldheer for her distinguished career and contributions to persons with traumatic brain injury throughout the state of South Carolina.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. Linda Veldheer.
