VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE THE HUNTER-KINARD-TYLER HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL TEAM AND ITS FINE COACHES ON THEIR IMPRESSIVE WIN OF THE 2014 CLASS A DIVISION II STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.
Whereas, supremely ready for the challenge, the Hunter-Kinard-Tyler (H-K-T) High School football team drove past Lake View 42-28 to capture the 2014 Class A Division II State Championship, held on November 28, 2014; and
Whereas, the stadium echoed with the cheers of exuberant H-K-T fans, pleased to see their confident predictions of victory realized as a satisfying end to an excellent 13-2 season; and
Whereas, the win made it back-to-back state titles for the Trojans. By the end of the championship game, their many admirers were already looking with anticipation toward a repeat performance next year; and
Whereas, such victories do not come overnight; they take determination and hard work. With proven consistency in both, Coach Dan Holland and his dedicated assistants, Jarvis Davis, Leon Hammond, and Dedric Tisdale, have built their football program into championship caliber and trained their team not to settle for second best; and
Whereas, during the game, Jarius Jenkins ran for 132 yards and three touchdowns, while Darius Hammonds had three touchdowns, 107 yards receiving, and 136 return yards for H-K-T; and
Whereas, the Trojans have brought great pride and recognition to their school and community, and the House is pleased to have this opportunity to recognize such an outstanding group of young athletes. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and congratulate the Hunter-Kinard-Tyler High School football team and its fine coaches on their impressive win of the 2014 Class A Division II State Championship title.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Ernest Holiday and Coach Dan Holland of Hunter-Kinard-Tyler High School.
