A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE ANTHONY MILLARD QUATTRONE UPON HIS SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA SCHOOL OF LAW AND UPON HIS ACCEPTANCE TO THE NEW YORK UNIVERSITY GRADUATE TAX PROGRAM.

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that Anthony Millard Quattrone is a candidate for a juris doctorate from the University of South Carolina School of Law, and will soon further his legal education in the prestigious master of laws in taxation program at the New York University School of Law; and

Whereas, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Daniel Quattrone, Anthony Quattrone graduated in 1996 from Heathwood Hall Episcopal School, where he met his beloved wife, Kristy Lea Ray, on the school bus in the eighth grade. They were married on April 12, 2008; and

Whereas, in December 2001, he earned a bachelor's degree in management from Tulane University, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He later served as a National Advisor to the fraternity, as well as an Assistant District Grand Master; and

Whereas, from 2002 to 2004, Mr. Quattrone served as a unit manager and financial consultant with AXA Advisors in Charleston, where he acquired and managed 5.7 million dollars in individual client assets, served as pro bono financial counsel to more than six hundred fifty displaced employees in partnership with the Employment Security Commission of Georgetown County, and was ranked the Number One Associate in a National Sales Campaign and named the Top New Associate in 2003; and

Whereas, he served as Director of Operations for South Carolina Cares of Columbia in the Hurricane Katrina relief center, coordinating care for some five thousand evacuees as a liaison between FEMA, state agencies, and human aid groups; and

Whereas, a seasoned political veteran, Mr. Quattrone was the Political Director for Richard Quinn and Associates in Columbia from 2005 to 2006, served as the Field Director and Executive Director of the Louisiana Action Council for Americans for Limited Government from 2006 to 2007, served as the Director of Public affairs with Allison and Partners in Columbia from 2007 to 2009, and in 2009 and 2010 he was the Political Director for McMaster for Governor Campaign. Immediately before attending law school, he served as Research Analyst in the Office of the Attorney General from 2010 to 2012 under Attorneys General Henry McMaster and Alan Wilson; and

Whereas, while in law school, Mr. Quattrone has clerked for the Simmons Law Firm, the Bowers Law Office, and the litigation department of the Department of Revenue in Columbia. He also has interned in the Staff Attorney's Office of the Court of Appeals; and

Whereas, Mr. Quattrone quickly distinguished himself in law school, earning a CALI Award in Income Taxation, serving as a Teaching Assistant for Legal Research and Writing for Professors Michael Virzi and Rebekah Maxwell and as the lead Research Assistant for Professor Alan Medlin, and serving as Articles Editor of the American Bar Association's Real Property, Probate and Trust Journal. In 2015, he became a member of the prestigious Order of the Wig and Robe, which recognizes students with the most outstanding academic records; and
