A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 2-1-260 SO AS TO PROHIBIT AN AGENCY WITHIN THE LEGISLATIVE DEPARTMENT FROM ENFORCING A DRESS CODE THAT IS STRICTER THAN THE DRESS CODE APPLICABLE TO ALL STATE EMPLOYEES.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Chapter 1, Title 2 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 2-1-260.    An agency within the legislative department may not enforce a dress code that is stricter than the dress code applicable to all state employees."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
