VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO COMMEND THE HONORABLE R. SHANNON RILEY FOR HIS FOUR YEARS OF COMMITTED SERVICE TO THE CITIZENS OF DISTRICT 13 IN GREENWOOD COUNTY AND TO WISH HIM CONTENTMENT AND SUCCESS IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, for four years, the Honorable Shannon Riley has represented the citizens of House District 13 in Greenwood County with faithfulness in the House of Representatives of this great State; and
Whereas, born in Greenwood County to Robert H. and the late Ann T. Riley, Shannon Riley prepared for his life's work at Erskine College, where he earned his bachelor's degree in 1996; and
Whereas, a resident of Hodges, Shannon Riley has used his influence as a legislator to support the businesses of the citizens he represents, and his efforts were recognized by the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce when its members selected him to receive a coveted Business Advocate Award; and
Whereas, in addition to being a small business owner, he is a cattle and timber farmer, and also the only known member of the General Assembly who is a "champion ballroom dancer"; and
Whereas, always devoted to helping out in his community in his spare time he was a state constable and volunteered with the Abbeville Police Department; and
Whereas, during his time of service in the House of Representatives (2013-2016), Shannon Riley has proven his value as a member of the Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environmental Affairs Committee and the Invitations and Memorial Resolutions Committee; and
Whereas, Shannon Riley's colleagues in the House of Representatives thank him for his dedication to the people of District 13 and extend heartiest wishes for all the best life has to offer in the coming years. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, commend the Honorable R. Shannon Riley for his four years of committed service to the citizens of District 13 in Greenwood County and wish him contentment and success in all his future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to our distinguished colleague, the Honorable R. Shannon Riley.
