VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO CONGRATULATE RICHARD D. WHEELER OF SUMTER UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AFTER THIRTY-TWO YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES, AND TO WISH HIM CONTINUED SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, for thirty-two years, Mr. Richard D. Wheeler has faithfully served the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, most recently serving in the rank of first sergeant, which included supervision of Sumter and Clarendon counties; and
Whereas, during his tenure at SC DNR, Mr. Wheeler spent seven years as a member of the prestigious SC DNR Dive Team and ten years as a counselor for the American Legion Cadet Lawman's Academy. He sponsored Wildlife Day for thirty years; and
Whereas, as a testament to his outstanding service, Mr. Wheeler was chosen as Officer of the Year for District Six three times; and
Whereas, Mr. Wheeler is a life member of the National Wildlife Turkey Federation and assisted SC DNR staff with a restoration project to reintroduce turkeys throughout Sumter County. He assisted the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Louisiana in connection to a sting operation conducted throughout the southeastern United States; and
Whereas, Mr. Wheeler was formerly a member of the Sumter County Game and Fish Association, and a member of the Young Farmers Association; and
Whereas, grateful for the exemplary service Mr. Wheeler has given to the State of South Carolina, the members take great pleasure in wishing him all the best as he enters retirement, and trust he will find much enjoyment in the more leisurely pace of the days ahead. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Mr. Richard D. Wheeler of Sumter upon the occasion of his retirement after thirty-two years of dedicated service to the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, and wish him continued success and happiness in all his future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Richard D. Wheeler.
