Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:

Our thought for today is from Deuteronomy 14:1: "You are children of the Lord your God."

Let us pray. Almighty God, thank You for calling us and making us Your children. Give these, Your children, the necessary tools to do the work You have called them to do. Bless them in their endeavors. Protect them from harm, as they go into the weekend. Strengthen them and refresh them for continued service to You and the people whom they serve. Bless our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, staff, and all who labor in these Halls of Government. Protect our defenders of freedom at home and abroad as they protect us. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of our brave warriors who suffer and sacrifice for our freedom. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayers. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.

At 10:22 a.m. the House, in accordance with the ruling of the SPEAKER, adjourned to meet at 12:00 noon, on Tuesday, May 26.
