The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:
Our thought for today is from Psalm 45:6: "Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever. Your royal scepter is a scepter of equity."
Let us pray. Almighty God, we give thanks for the gifts You so graciously give to each of Your people. Allow us to use these gifts to help those who need help and to support those who can contribute these gifts. Guide each who work in these Halls of Government to give of themselves for the service of others. Bless our Nation, State, all our leaders and those who work with them and serve them. Protect our defenders of freedom at home and abroad as they protect us. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of our brave warriors who suffer and sacrifice for our freedom. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayers. Amen.
