The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:
Our thought for today is from Psalm 26:3: "For your steadfast love is before my eyes, and I walk in faithfulness to you."
Let us pray. Faithful God, give these Representatives and staff Your steadfast love and faithfulness as they work to accomplish the duties given to them. Grant them a restful, peaceful, and safe weekend. Bless our leaders of Nation and State. Give them wisdom, courage, and integrity in their duties. Protect our defenders of freedom as they protect us. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of our brave warriors who suffer and sacrifice for our freedom. Lord, hear our prayers. Amen.
After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
