The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:
Our thought for today is from Isaiah 44:24: "Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer who formed you in the womb: I am the Lord, who made all things..."
Let us pray. O Lord our God, how excellent is Your Name in all the earth. You have made us and given us every needful thing. Put into our hearts and minds the desire to use these gifts to serve You and the people whom You have chosen for us to serve. Look in favor upon our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, staff, and all who labor in these Halls of Government. Protect our defenders in harm's way as they protect us. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of our brave warriors who suffer and sacrifice for our freedom. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayers. Amen.
After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
The following Bill was taken up, read the third time, and ordered sent to the Senate:
