TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR THE CHAPIN HIGH SCHOOL CHEERLEADING TEAM, COACHES, AND SCHOOL OFFICIALS FOR AN OUTSTANDING SEASON AND TO CONGRATULATE THEM FOR WINNING THE CLASS AAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that the Chapin High School cheerleading team took top honors at the state competition on November 15, 2014, in Greenville; and
Whereas, to the delight of their fans and the dismay of their opponents, the Lady Eagles nailed a final tally of 351 to win the AAA title and earn the top score; and
Whereas, Chapin's win was the tenth in the school's history, and the squad remains the record-holder for most cheer titles, achievements that have propelled the team into dynasty status; and
Whereas, holding true to their winning tradition and the excellence that created it, the twenty-five-strong Lady Eagles featured several stunt groups and poured out high intensity during their winning routine; and
Whereas, in a sport that demands precision, grace, and strength, Head Coach Vicki Williams and Assistant Coach Billie Williams capitalized on their own athletic ability and training to build a championship team and teach these athletes lessons that will prove invaluable throughout life; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives appreciate the pride and recognition the Chapin cheerleaders have brought to their school and community and look to hear of their continued accomplishments in the days ahead. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor the Chapin High School cheerleading team, coaches, and school officials for an outstanding season and congratulate them for winning the Class AAA State Championship title.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Akil Ross and Coach Vicki Williams.
