TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 23-23-75 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT BEFORE A PERSON MAY BE CERTIFIED OR RECERTIFIED AS A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER HE MUST BE CERTIFIED TO PERFORM CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Chapter 23, Title 23 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 23-23-75. Before a person may be certified or recertified as a law enforcement officer by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Training Council, he must be certified to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
