TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR KENNETH "PAUL" COX, JR., AND TO CONGRATULATE HIM AS HE GRADUATES FROM WOFFORD COLLEGE ON SUNDAY, MAY 17, 2015.
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that Kenneth "Paul" Cox, Jr., of Columbia will complete his studies for a bachelor's degree at Wofford College on May 17, 2015; and
Whereas, born in Columbia on March 19, 1993, he graduated in the top five percent of his class from White Knoll High School in Lexington in June 2011, where he was a member of the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) and served as its vice president during his junior year and as president his senior year; and
Whereas, in statewide HOSA competition in healthcare education, Paul Cox placed third and second during his junior and senior years, respectively, and competed nationally in extemporaneous writing, ranking in the top ten percent; and
Whereas, a member of the cross country and track team for three years at White Knoll, he is a dedicated member of Mount Horeb United Methodist Church in Lexington; and
Whereas, Paul Cox entered Wofford College in the fall of 2011, where he has majored in biology and Spanish and has sung baritone with the Wofford Singers his entire college career; and
Whereas, in the spring of 2014, he completed a semester of study on public health in urban environments in Buenos Aires, Argentina; and
Whereas, after graduation from high school, Mr. Cox was employed for two years as a float teller at First Community Bank in Lexington, and during his sophomore year at Wofford, he served as a resident assistant on campus; and
Whereas, he worked in the Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) library in Spartanburg from 2012 to 2014 and as a sales associate at Express in Spartanburg from 2013 to 2014; and
Whereas, a member of the Rotaract Club, Paul Cox has served as a development associate at Wofford College since September 2014; and
Whereas, he has been accepted to graduate school at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives appreciates the dedication and commitment to excellence that Paul Cox has exhibited throughout his college career and look to hear of his continued accomplishments in the days ahead. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Kenneth "Paul" Cox, Jr., and congratulate him as he graduates from Wofford College on Sunday, May 17, 2015.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Kenneth "Paul" Cox, Jr.
