TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA CRIMINAL JUSTICE ACADEMY, RELATING TO REPORTING OF MISCONDUCT BY LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 4345, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy, relating to Reporting of Misconduct by Law Enforcement Officers, designated as Regulation Document Number 4345, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
S.C. Code Section 23-23-80 authorizes the Law Enforcement Training Council to make regulations necessary for the administration of S.C. Code Section 23-23-10 et seq. The proposed additions to the regulations will allow for reporting of misconduct by law enforcement officers to the National Decertification Index once a case is finalized (no more appeals pending or possible).
