TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 1-1-686 SO AS TO DESIGNATE "DUM SPIRO SPERO" TRANSLATED AS "WHILE WE BREATHE, WE HOPE" AS THE OFFICIAL ANTHEM OF THE STATE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Article 9, Chapter 1, Title 1 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 1-1-686. 'Dum Spiro Spero' translated as 'While We Breathe, We Hope' is the official anthem of the State."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
