TO COMMEND THE HONORABLE MICHAEL W. "MIKE" GAMBRELL FOR HIS COMMITTED SERVICE TO THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AND THE CITIZENS OF DISTRICT 7 IN ABBEVILLE AND ANDERSON COUNTIES AND TO WISH HIM FULFILLMENT AND SUCCESS IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS UPON HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
Whereas, for ten years, the Honorable Michael W. "Mike" Gambrell has represented the citizens of House District 7 in Abbeville and Anderson counties with faithfulness in the House of Representatives of this great State; and
Whereas, self-employed with M&R Enterprises, Mike Gambrell earned his bachelor's degree at Clemson University in 1980; and
Whereas, during his years in the House of Representatives, Mike Gambrell has used his experience for the benefit of his constituents and other citizens of our State as a member of the Ethics Committee, as well as the Labor, Commerce and Industry Committee; and
Whereas, Representative Gambrell firmly believes in active participation in the community, and his convictions have led him to serve his community in various ways. These include service as chief of the Friendship Fire Department (1990-2006), chair of the Anderson County Fire Chiefs Association (1990-2002), and member of the Anderson County EMS Commission (2002-2006); and
Whereas, he finds strength for his labors in the strong support of his lovely wife, Reene; and
Whereas, on the occasion of his departure from the House of Representatives, his House colleagues, grateful for Mike Gambrell's committed service to this body and the people of District 7, extend warmest best wishes for much contentment and satisfaction in this new phase of his life. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, commend the Honorable Michael W. "Mike" Gambrell for his committed service to the South Carolina House of Representatives and the citizens of District 7 in Abbeville and Anderson counties and wish him fulfillment and success in all his future endeavors upon his retirement from the House of Representatives.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to our distinguished colleague, the Honorable Michael W. "Mike" Gambrell.
