A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO SUSPEND ANY REQUIREMENT THAT A SCHOOL BOARD CANDIDATE MUST COLLECT PETITION SIGNATURES TO RUN FOR A SCHOOL BOARD SEAT UNTIL DECEMBER 31, 2020.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    In order to prevent the further spread of COVID-19, effective until December 31, 2020, any requirement that a school board candidate must collect petition signatures to run for a school board seat is suspended.

SECTION    2.    This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
