VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE DORMAN HIGH SCHOOL BOYS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM FOR A SUCCESSFUL SEASON AND TO CONGRATULATE THE TEAM AND COACHES ON CAPTURING THE 2018 CLASS AAAAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
Whereas, the Dorman High School boys cross country team experienced a banner year, much to the delight of their fans and the disappointment of their rivals; and
Whereas, in ultimate testimony to their 2018 achievements, on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Sandhill Research and Education Center in Columbia, the Dorman boys cross country runners added another trophy to match last year's in defeating James Island 100-104 to earn the Class AAAAA state title, and they did it with style; and
Whereas, after the 2018 crown was secure, exultant Dorman fans began making plans to return next year to see the Cavaliers repeat the feat; and
Whereas, in a sport that demands endurance, speed, and mental focus, Head Coach Jeff Buys forged a championship team through successfully imparting his own athletic skills and time-tested lessons from his years of coaching; and
Whereas, once again, the Dorman High School boys cross country team has succeeded in bringing home a state title and, in so doing, has brought great pride to its school and community. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and commend the Dorman High School boys cross country team for a successful season and congratulate the team and coaches on capturing the 2018 Class AAAAA State Championship.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Ken Kiser and Head Coach Jeff Buys of Dorman High School.
