TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR THE AMERICA'S CLOGGING ALL*STARS FOR THEIR SHOW-STOPPING PERFORMANCES IN THE 2019 LONDON NEW YEAR'S DAY PARADE.

Whereas, after their excellent performance in the 2017 London New Year's Day Parade, the PowerTaps clogging team was asked to return to perform in the parade's 2019 edition. They also were asked to bring "even more cloggers" in 2019; and

Whereas, the directors of the PowerTaps clogging team, Ryan Rickard and Marci Rickard, envisioned return performances comprised of the very best cloggers they could find for the 2019 London New Year's Day Parade; and

Whereas, Ryan and Marci invited seven other competitive clogging teams to join them and PowerTaps for the 2019 London New Year's Day Parade performances. All seven teams agreed to join the Rickards and PowerTaps to create America's Clogging All*Stars; and

Whereas, for the 2019 London New Year's Day Parade, America's Clogging All*Stars featured these competitive clogging teams: Capital City Clogging Company from Columbia; Dixie Starz from Martinez, Georgia; Indiana Dance Company from Bloomington, Indiana; JM Studios from Archdale, North Carolina; PowerTaps from Woodstock, Georgia; Taps in Motion from Owingsville, Kentucky; Tennessee Hoedowners from Surgoinsville, Tennessee; Will's Mountain Cloggers from Corriganville, Maryland; and

Whereas, the combining of eight competitive clogging teams and their ninety-two competitive cloggers into one performance team has never been undertaken in clogging before; and

Whereas, under the guidance of each team's director(s) and through only three combined practices, the America's Clogging All*Stars created and performed seven different routines during five different performances related to the 2019 London New Year's Day Parade, including the following: for the parade's press day preview in Trafalgar Square; as part of the parade's concert series at Cadogan Hall, where these cloggers earned the first known standing ovation given by all attendees at such a concert performance; as part of the pre-parade show; in the parade itself with a parade-route routine, a finale routine, and various spontaneous and unchoreographed steps during the parade; and in the parade's VIP performance; and

Whereas, after their performances, America's Clogging All*Stars were immediately asked to return for the 2022 London New Year's Day Parade, and they also have been invited to perform in the 2021 Rome New Year's Day Parade; and

Whereas, the House takes great pleasure in celebrating the outstanding work of America's Clogging All*Stars and in wishing them well in all their future endeavors, and the members appreciate their informal ambassadorship for this great State and country as they travel and perform. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor the America's Clogging All*Stars for their show-stopping performances in the 2019 London New Year's Day Parade.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the America's Clogging All*Stars.
