VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR THE GEORGETOWN HIGH SCHOOL NAVY JUNIOR RESERVE OFFICERS TRAINING CORPS AND INSTRUCTORS FOR THEIR EXCEPTIONAL WORK DURING THE 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR AND TO CONGRATULATE THEM ON BEING NAMED THE TOP NAVY JUNIOR RESERVE OFFICERS TRAINING CORPS UNIT IN AREA 6.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to learn that the Georgetown High School Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) was named the top unit in Area 6; and
Whereas, the cadets of Georgetown High School accumulated over four thousand hours of community service, received over thirty-five trophies for their efforts on the field of competition, and fielded teams in orienteering, drill, rifle, sea perch, honor choir, and academics. In addition to their hard work on the field, one hundred cadets made the school's academic honor roll; and
Whereas, the one hundred thirty-nine cadets at Georgetown High School received "outstanding" marks on all portions of this year's Navy Area Manager Inspection. Moreover, they earned the most points on the Area 6 End of the Year Report, higher than any other NJROTC unit in Area 6; and
Whereas, Georgetown High School NJROTC is one of eleven schools across the nation being considered for "Top NJROTC Unit in the Nation"; and
Whereas, Major S.C. Studley maximized his own military expertise and training to forge a unit that excels and to teach these students lessons that will prove invaluable throughout life. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor the Georgetown High School Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps and instructors for their exceptional work during the 2018-2019 school year and congratulate them on being named the top Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps unit in Area 6
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Major S.C. Studley.
