VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR THE J. L. MANN HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM, COACHES, AND SCHOOL OFFICIALS FOR AN OUTSTANDING SEASON AND TO CONGRATULATE THEM FOR WINNING THE 2019 SOUTH CAROLINA CLASS AAAAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that the members of the J. L. Mann High School girls cross country team of Greenville County captured the top honor at the state competition on Tuesday, November 19, 2019; and
Whereas, cross country is a physically demanding sport that requires endurance, discipline, and perseverance, as well as physical and mental fortitude in order to rise to the highest levels. Head Coach Todd Prochaska was able to inspire and drive the athletes of the J. L. Mann High School girls cross country team to reach for and achieve these ideals in order to overcome the competition; and
Whereas, after much hard work and dedication, the Patriots cross country team earned their place atop the podium and secured the Class AAAAA with an eighty-eight point performance, defeating their nearest competition by twenty points. The team can celebrate their success and be proud of the effort required to achieve their result; and
Whereas, Kennedy Roush, who placed third at the state championship; Madison Roush, who placed eleventh at the state championship; and Sofia Kurzawa, who placed thirteenth at the state championship all earned All-State honors for their strong performances throughout the season; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are grateful for the pride and recognition the girls of the J. L. Mann High School cross country team have brought to their school and community and look forward to hearing of their continued accomplishments in the days ahead. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution recognize and honor the J. L. Mann High School girls cross country team, coaches, and school officials for an outstanding season and congratulate them for winning the South Carolina Class AAAAA State Championship title.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Charles Mayfield and Head Coach Todd Prochaska.
