VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO SALUTE THE BAMBERG-EHRHARDT HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING TEAM ON NAILING THE CLASS AA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE AND TO HONOR THE TEAM'S SUPERB ATHLETES ON AN AMAZING 2020 SEASON.
Whereas, knowing they would be considered the team to beat, the Class AA Bamberg-Ehrhardt Red Raiders prepared fully for the challenge of capturing their third straight state title and sixth overall. They achieved their goal, downing North Central 42-30 at Columbia's Dreher High School on February 15, 2020; and
Whereas, with jubilant Red Raider fans cheering them on, the Bamberg-Ehrhardt grapplers found worthy opponents in the North Central Knights but still took three of the final four matches to seal the win. As the Red Raiders accepted their trophy, having defeated North Central for the second consecutive year, supporters began making plans to watch their team do it again next year; and
Whereas, over a successful season, the Bamberg-Ehrhardt team grew increasingly more aware of how to put their talents to use and how to forge winning strategies implemented with a marked determination. They put their agility, strength, and perseverance to the test in the title match during their eleventh state title appearance since 2006; and
Whereas, such an impressive performance is not achieved by accident. Coach Mark Moody masterfully molded his team into a championship machine, enabling the Red Raiders to hoist the title trophy once again; and
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives take great pleasure in recognizing the young athletes of the Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School wrestling team and anticipate with interest learning of their continued praiseworthy achievements. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, salute the Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School wrestling team on nailing the Class AA State Championship title and honor the team's superb athletes on an amazing 2020 season.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Dennis R. Ulmer and Coach Mark Moody of Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School.
