VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO RECOGNIZE WEDNESDAY, MARCH 20, 2019 AS "SOUTH CAROLINA PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYORS DAY" IN HONOR OF THE IMPORTANT SERVICES PROVIDED BY THIS GROUP OF PROFESSIONALS.
Whereas, land surveying is a science requiring great precision and responsibility in determining the exact measurements needed to define boundaries and distances; and
Whereas, professional land surveyors give shape to our transportation routes, water systems, and communities while creating permanent records of land ownership for future generations; and
Whereas, the people of the Palmetto State depend on the technical expertise and professional ethics of land surveyors to protect their interests when engaging in land transactions; and
Whereas, the 2019 observance of National Surveyors Week, March 17-23, 2019, provides an opportunity to recognize the land surveying profession as a vital part of South Carolina's economy. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, recognize Wednesday, March 20, 2019 as "South Carolina Professional Land Surveyors Day" in honor of the important services provided by this group of professionals.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Allison King, Executive Director of the South Carolina Society of Professional Land Surveyors.
