VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO CELEBRATE THE A.C. FLORA HIGH SCHOOL COMPETITIVE CHEER TEAM, COACHES, AND SCHOOL OFFICIALS FOR A SUPERB SEASON AND TO CONGRATULATE THEM ON CAPTURING THE CLASS AAAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.
Whereas, with its usual precision and grace, the A.C. Flora High School competitive cheer team proved its tenacity and earned gold at the state competition, held at the Florence Civic Center on Saturday, December 19, 2020; and
Whereas, it was Flora's first cheerleading state crown, and in capturing it, the Lady Falcons earned 289 points and soared past nearest competitor Travelers Rest, which finished with 268 points; and
Whereas, in a season like no other, with the whole sport fighting a pandemic, the Lady Falcons rose to the challenge and claimed the victory. In so doing, they added to Flora's state championship haul in December 2020, which saw both the cheer team and the football team take home a first state title; and
Whereas, in just her first year at Flora, Head Coach Lyndsey West led her athletes to the top of the mountain at the championship competition and found the view worth the climb; and
Whereas, the members of the House are pleased to salute the young athletes of the A.C. Flora High School competitive cheer team and are confident that the Lady Falcons will continue to excel in the years ahead. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, celebrate the A.C. Flora High School competitive cheer team, coaches, and school officials for a superb season and congratulate them on capturing the Class AAAA State Championship title.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Susan Childs and Head Coach Lyndsey West of A.C. Flora High School.
