VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO CONGRATULATE JO ANNE WEISNER CANNON OF CHARLESTON COUNTY ON THE OCCASION OF HER SEVENTY-FIFTH BIRTHDAY AND TO WISH HER A JOYOUS BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION AND MUCH HAPPINESS IN THE DAYS AHEAD.
Whereas, on October 4, 2021, Jo Anne Weisner Cannon of Charleston County will awaken to the celebration of a milestone event: her seventy-fifth birthday; and
Whereas, the eldest of six children born to Joe and Kathryn Durovich Weisner, Jo came into this world on October 4, 1946, in East Brunswick, New Jersey; and
Whereas, in 1947, her family moved to Barksdale, South Carolina, where she attended Gray Court-Owings School. She graduated from Gray Court-Owings High School in 1964 and then matriculated at Lander College, graduating with a major in English and minor in Psychology in 1968; and
Whereas, upon receiving her bachelor's degree, Jo attended graduate school at the University of South Carolina, where she obtained a Masters of Art degree. Then, embarking on a long and fruitful educational career, she taught in the South Carolina public schools for twenty-eight years. Additionally, she taught Art at The Citadel and Charleston Southern. Upon retirement, she opened Beads on Cannon, which became a thriving business; and
Whereas, she married the love of her life, Hugh Cannon, in 1998. Jo, who possesses a keen intellect, sterling character, and exemplary work ethic, is also a devoted sister to her siblings and cherished friend to many. Further, this voracious reader and avid gardener is fluent in Mandarin and knowledgeable about antiques; and
Whereas, finally, Jo Cannon is a proud daughter of the South; and
Whereas, it is a great pleasure to honor this truly lovely lady at the celebration of her seventy-fifth birthday and to join with her family and friends in congratulating her on reaching this important life milestone. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Jo Anne Weisner Cannon of Charleston County on the occasion of her seventy-fifth birthday and wish her a joyous birthday celebration and much happiness in the days ahead.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Jo Anne Weisner Cannon.
