A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS DEEP APPRECIATION FOR THE DEDICATED SERVICE OF VICKIE BARTON STOUDEMIRE OF CALHOUN COUNTY, TO CONGRATULATE HER ON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT AFTER AN EXEMPLARY CAREER OF NINETEEN YEARS WITH THE COUNTY, AND TO WISH HER A FUTURE BLESSED WITH GOOD HEALTH AND MUCH JOY.

Whereas, on December 31, 2021, Vickie Barton Stoudemire will retire after a career with Calhoun County of nearly twenty years, the past nine as clerk to Calhoun County Council; and

Whereas, born to Samuel "Sammy" and Lucille "Jessie Bell" Barton, she was one of three siblings, including her older brother, Mike, and her younger sister, Brenda; and

Whereas, a 1976 graduate of William Barrett Travis Academy, Vickie married her high school sweetheart, Larry Stoudemire, and the couple became the proud parents of two children, Christopher Stoudemire (Kelly) and William "Chad" Stoudemire (Heather); and

Whereas, in addition, during the senior Stoudemires' forty-three years of marriage, the Lord has blessed them with three charming grandchildren, Gabby, Lillie, and Miller Kate, and Vickie is looking forward to spending more time with them in her retirement; and

Whereas, as a woman of faith, Vickie finds her spiritual home at Gethsemane Baptist Church; and

Whereas, the House trusts that in the days to come, Vickie will find that her increased leisure hours give her unprecedented opportunities to travel with Larry and--most important of all--spoil her grandchildren; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House are grateful for the legacy of consistent commitment and excellence Vickie Stoudemire has bestowed on the Palmetto State, most particularly the citizens of Calhoun County, and wish her many years of enjoyment in her well-deserved retirement. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, express deep appreciation for the dedicated service of Vickie Barton Stoudemire of Calhoun County, congratulate her on the occasion of her retirement after an exemplary career of nineteen years with the county, and wish her a future blessed with good health and much joy.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Vickie Barton Stoudemire.
