TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR DR. RICHARD G. LUCARELLI, FOUNDER OF FAMILY MEDICINE OF DUNCAN, UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AFTER TWENTY-SEVEN YEARS OF OUTSTANDING SERVICE, AND TO WISH HIM CONTINUED SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, it is altogether fitting and proper that the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina should pause in their deliberations to express their gratitude to Richard G. Lucarelli for his significant contributions to the medical profession and the Duncan community; and
Whereas, a native of New York, he is the son of a former New York City police officer, and his widowed mother now lives beside him in Spartanburg; and
Whereas, Dr. Lucarelli received his medical education at the former University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-School of Osteopathic Medicine; and
Whereas, after Dr. Lucarelli completed his residency at Spartanburg Medical Center, he opened Family Medicine in Duncan where he has remained for twenty-seven years, serving the medical needs of the community; and
Whereas, under Dr. Lucarelli's leadership, Family Medicine in Duncan was one of the first members of Medical Group of the Carolinas; and
Whereas, Dr. Lucarelli considers two of his original patients, Representative Merita Allison and her daughter, as "ground zero" of his medical practice in Duncan; and
Whereas, together with his beloved wife, Sandra, he has reared two fine children, Hayden who is in dental school in Italy and Morgan who graduated from Agnes Scott College and resides in Atlanta; and
Whereas, an avid snow skier and connoisseur of red wine, among other things, Dr. Lucarelli plans to enjoy his retirement pursuing his hobbies with his wife by his side; and
Whereas, grateful for his many years of distinguished service in meeting medical needs of the Duncan community, the South Carolina House of Representatives takes great pleasure in extending best wishes to Richard Lucarelli as he transitions to a richly deserved retirement and the unhurried pace of the days ahead, and the members wish him many years of health and enjoyment in his well-earned retirement. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Dr. Richard G. Lucarelli, founder of Family Medicine of Duncan, upon the occasion of his retirement after twenty-seven years of outstanding service, and wish him continued success and happiness in all his future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. Richard G. Lucarelli.
