VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO CONGRATULATE MOUNT PLEASANT WATERWORKS' CONTROLLED CHAOS TEAM ON WINNING THE 2021 WEFTEC OPERATIONS CHALLENGE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP (DIVISION I), HELD OCTOBER 16-20 IN CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that Mount Pleasant Waterworks' Controlled Chaos team has captured, in a back-to-back victory (2020 and 2021), first place in the WEFTEC Operations Challenge National Championship for Division I; and
Whereas, held October 16-20, 2021, in Chicago, Illinois, the 94th Annual Water Environment Federation Technical Exhibition and Conference, known as WEFTEC, challenged wastewater's elite specialists in a series of tests demonstrating the best combination of precision, speed, and safety. They faced off in laboratory and process control events, as well as collections, safety, and KSB maintenance events, during the conference. A total of thirty-two teams competed in the 34th Operations Challenge, each team completing five events; and
Whereas, the WEFTEC Operations Challenge is considered the water industry's premier skills competition in the nation; and
Whereas, felicitations to the members of the national Operations Challenge championship team, Coach Troy Newton and team members Seth Duncan, Kevin Ganley, Patrick Ross, and Tyler Waterhouse of Mount Pleasant Waterworks; and
Whereas, WEFTEC is the largest conference of its kind in North America and offers water quality professionals from around the world the best water quality education and training available today. Recognized as the largest annual water quality exhibition in the world, the expansive show floor provides unparalleled access to the most cutting-edge technologies in the field and serves as a forum for domestic and international business opportunities; and
Whereas, grateful for the high standards of commitment and performance displayed by these outstanding specialists, the House takes great pleasure in applauding the members of Mount Pleasant Waterworks' Controlled Chaos team on their prestigious achievement. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Mount Pleasant Waterworks' Controlled Chaos team on winning the 2021 WEFTEC Operations Challenge National Championship (Division I), held October 16-20 in Chicago, Illinois.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mount Pleasant Waterworks.
