VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES UPON THE PASSING OF ROBERT LEE DELBRIDGE OF LAKE CITY AND TO EXTEND THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives were deeply saddened by the passing of Robert Lee Delbridge of Lake City on February 10, 2022; and
Whereas, born in Jersey City, New Jersey, Robert Lee Delbridge was raised in Union Springs, Alabama; and
Whereas, in Union Springs, he attended Carver School and developed his love for the outdoors. He especially enjoyed the outdoor sport of fishing; and
Whereas, well known as a furniture refinisher and entrepreneur, Robert Delbridge was the owner of Bob's Flea Market in downtown Lake City for many years. He also worked for Bishop Parker Furnishings in Montgomery, Alabama, until his retirement; and
Whereas, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Delbridge, Jr.; his father, Willie Delbridge; his mother, Minnie L. Bandy Delbridge; his brother, Johnnie L. Bandy; and his sisters, Bennie Mae Bandy and Beulah (Sullivan) Watson. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Priscilla Delbridge of Lake City; his daughter Shavonne (Anthony) Gaskin of Orangeburg; his grandsons, Aiden Lee Delbridge of Little River, Anthony E. Gaskin, Shamar Gaskin, and Marsalis Gaskin, all of Orangeburg; and a host of other family members and friends. He will be greatly missed. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, express their profound sorrow upon the passing of Robert L. Delbridge of Lake City and extend the deepest sympathy to his family and many friends.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mrs. Priscilla Delbridge for the family.
