VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO EXPRESS PROFOUND SORROW UPON THE PASSING OF DAVID ADDISON AND TO EXTEND THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate were deeply saddened to learn of the death of David Addison on February 8, 2021 at the venerable age of seventy-five; and
Whereas, a native of Bishopville, David was born on April 11, 1945 as the youngest son of Henry, Sr. and Mabel Melton Addison. He dedicated his life to serving both his country and community in a number of ways, as a member of the United States Air Force, professional barber, businessman, county council member, member of countless boards and committees, man of faith, and family man; and
Whereas, he was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Rosa Lee (James) Evans and Azalee Morgan; and one brother, Robert (Willie Mae) Addison; and
Whereas, David Addison leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Betty Dizzley Addison; one son, David (Tonya) Addison; two daughters, Jawondolyn (Paul) McAllister and Lakisha (Travis) Bonner; a special cousin raised in the home as a daughter, Tosha Clyburn Coleman; eleven grandchildren, Briyana (Kenneth) Stegall, Paul Langston McAllister, Jawuanna McAllister, Brytton McAllister, Brennen McAllister, Rachel McAllister, Taylor Bonner, Anthony Addison, Aaden Addison, Noah Bonner, and Landon Stegall; six sisters, Annie Lou Carter, Ida Mae March, Ella Mae(Russell) Issac, Emma (William) Smith, Mamie Hickmon, and Juanita (David) Bradley; one brother, Henry (Rosa) Addison; two sisters-in-law, Glenda (Walter) Jefferson and Cynthia (Willie) Davis; two brothers-in-law, James Edward (Linda) Dizzley and Russell (Gracie) Dizzley; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a host of other relatives, friends, and church family, as well as the community he served. He will be greatly missed. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, express profound sorrow upon the passing of David Addison and extend deepest sympathy to his family and many friends.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the family of David Addison.
