TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY REPEALING CHAPTER 6, TITLE 12 RELATING TO THE SOUTH CAROLINA INCOME TAX ACT; AND TO REPEAL CHAPTER 8, TITLE 12 RELATING TO INCOME TAX WITHHOLDING.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. A. Chapter 6, Title 12 of the 1976 Code is repealed.
B. Chapter 8, Title 12 of the 1976 Code is repealed.
SECTION 2. Any provision of law that provides for an income tax or an income tax credit is no longer effective.
SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor and first applies to income tax years beginning after 2020.
