TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE HONORABLE WESTLEY P. "WEST" COX OF ANDERSON COUNTY FOR HIS DEDICATED SERVICE IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES ON BEHALF OF HIS CONSTITUENTS AND THE CITIZENS OF SOUTH CAROLINA AND TO WISH HIM MUCH SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives learned with sincere regret that Representative West Cox will depart from the House of Representatives at the conclusion of his current term; and
Whereas, born in West Pelzer on December 15, 1986, he is the son of Tim and Elisa Cox and earned a bachelor's degree from Clemson University in 2008 and a juris doctorate from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2014; and
Whereas, in 2015, Representative Cox married his beloved wife, Caroline Alex, and together they have one fine son, Theodore. When away from his duties in the House of Representatives, he resides in Piedmont where he practices law; and
Whereas, deeply involved in his community, he is a member of the Piedmont Lions Club and completed Leadership Clemson in 2016, the Young Professionals Leadership Course in 2018, as well as the Easley Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Academy YP-E3, designed to educate and empower young professionals to emerge as community leaders; and
Whereas, Representative Cox has faithfully served the citizens of District 10 in Anderson, Greenville, and Pickens counties in the House of Representatives since 2019 and most recently serving on the Judiciary and Rules committees; and
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives will miss the keen and impassioned service that West Cox, their friend and colleague, has given to the House of Representatives and hope that he will enjoy deep fulfillment in the years to come. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and commend the Honorable Westley P. "West" Cox of Anderson County for his dedicated service in the House of Representatives on behalf of his constituents and the citizens of South Carolina and wish him much success and happiness in all his future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Honorable Westley P. "West" Cox.
