TO AMEND SECTION 50-13-675, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO NONGAME FISHING DEVICES PERMITTED IN CERTAIN BODIES OF WATER, SO AS TO ALLOW FOR THE USE OF SET HOOKS WITHIN A CERTAIN PORTION OF THE SANTEE RIVER.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 50-13-675(46) of the 1976 Code is amended to read:
"(46) Santee River, from USGS gauging station 1715 about 2.4 miles below Santee Dam downstream to the saltwater/freshwater dividing line including the North and South Santee Rivers:
(a) eel pots:
(i) recreational license--two;
(ii) commercial license--seventy-five;
(b) skimbow nets:
(i) recreational license only--one;
(c) traps:
(i) recreational license--two;
(ii) commercial license--fifty;
(d) trotlines:
(i) recreational license--one line with fifty hooks maximum;
(ii) commercial license--five lines with two hundred fifty hooks maximum;
(e) set hooks:
(i) recreational license--fifty;
(ii) commercial license--fifty;"
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
