TO EXTEND THE PERIOD AFTER WHICH AN APPOINTMENT TO THE BOARD OF PROBATION, PAROLE AND PARDON SERVICES IS CONSIDERED REJECTED UNTIL MAY 13, 2021.
Whereas, Section 24-21-10 of the 1976 Code provides for the composition and terms of the Board of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services; and
Whereas, each of the seven members of the board must be appointed from each of the congressional districts, with at least one appointee having certain qualifications; and
Whereas, Section 24-21-10 provides for the method of appointment and confirmation of members of the board; and
Whereas, the Senate may by resolution extend the period after which an appointment is considered rejected. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the period after which an appointment is considered rejected is extended until May 13, 2021.
