TO CONGRATULATE AND HONOR DR. ANNETTE ZARO COON OF CHARLESTON FOR HER MANY ACCOMPLISHMENTS, AND TO WISH HER CONTINUED SUCCESS, HEALTH, AND HAPPINESS FOR MANY YEARS TO COME.
Whereas, the South Carolina Senate is pleased to recognize Dr. Coon for her dutiful service to the citizens of South Carolina as a doctor of chiropractic and leader in the chiropractic community, helping to alleviate the pain and suffering of thousands of patients and improve the profession of chiropractic; and
Whereas, Dr. Coon is the owner and clinic director of Body by Design and practices with her husband, Dr. Michael Coon, at Alpha Chiropractic Care; and
Whereas, Dr. Coon's outstanding commitment to improving the lives of South Carolinians by providing chiropractic care has distinguished her among her peers as one of the premier chiropractors in South Carolina; and
Whereas, Dr. Coon served as District IV Director for the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards from 2014 to 2015, furthering the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards' mission of ensuring the safe, ethical practice of chiropractic globally; and
Whereas, Dr. Coon has also served in various leadership roles on the Chiropractic Physicians' Board of Nevada, National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, Nevada Chiropractic Association, and the International Chiropractic Association; and
Whereas, Dr. Coon was installed as the South Carolina Chiropractic Association's District 3 Director in June 2018. She has served on the Board of Directors ever since and also served as President of the South Carolina Chiropractic Association from August 2020 to June 2021, during one of the most tumultuous times chiropractors have ever seen; and
Whereas, in honor of her outstanding service, Dr. Coon received the South Carolina Chiropractic Association's Presidential Pillar Award in 2019 and 2020. She was recognized as an outstanding South Carolina Chiropractic Association member upon whom the outgoing president consistently relied for leadership, active participation, and honest feedback. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate and honor Dr. Coon for her many accomplishments and wish her continued success, health, and happiness for many years to come.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. Annette Z. Coon.
