A senate RESOLUTION
TO CONGRATULATE Tramont Miles upon the occasion of his graduation from the university of south Carolina.
Whereas, the South Carolina Senate is pleased to learn that Tramont Miles has graduated from the University of South Carolina; and
Whereas, a native of Bennettsville, Tramont is a first-generation student and criminal justice and psychology double major. He has served as a university ambassador, a presidential ambassador, a U101 peer leader, a Gamecock Club intern, and he was a member of the Chi Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa; and
Whereas, Tramont is perhaps most well-known for his role as the University of South Carolina's beloved mascot, Cocky. From football games to Nissan commercials, Tramont has traveled around the world as Cocky. Most recently, he was in Cleveland when the women's basketball team won its third national championship; and
Whereas, Tramont was the first to start a new football tradition: Cocky rising out of a new gameday Cockaboose on the field at Williams-Brice Stadium. One of his favorite Cocky jobs was attending baseball games and getting to interact personally with fans on the concourse and in the stands; and
Whereas, in addition to his many roles with the university, Tramont also worked as a page for Senator Gerald Malloy where he assisted the members of the South Carolina Senate and coordinated logistics and materials for committee meetings and staff events; and
Whereas, after graduation, Tramont is headed to Tennessee to work as the visitor services counselor at the University of Tennessee Knoxville Visitor Center; and
Whereas, the Senate is grateful for Tramont's dedicated service to the people and the State of South Carolina and takes great pleasure in saluting him for graduating from the University of South Carolina. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Tramont Miles upon the occasion of his graduation from the University of South Carolina.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Tramont Miles.
