VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
A bill
to amend the south carolina code of laws by amending section 59-20-50, relating to the state minimum salary schedule for teachers, so as to extend the schedule five years so that each certified teacher is eligible to receive a pay raise for each of their first twenty-eight years of teaching.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 59-20-50(4) of the S.C. Code is amended by adding an item to read:
(c) The state minimum salary schedule set forth in this subsection must be extended so that each certified teacher is eligible to receive a pay raise for each of their first twenty-eight years of teaching.
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
