A house RESOLUTION
TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR THE Trenholm Little League Majors 12U softball TEAM and COACHES FOR A REMARKABLE SEASON AND TO CONGRATULATE THEM FOR WINNING THE 2023 SOUTH CAROLINA little league STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that the members of the Trenholm Majors 12U softball team of Richland County captured the state title in the series held on Sunday, July 9, 2023; and
Whereas, as the winners of the state championship, "Team South Carolina" traveled to Warner Robins, Georgia, on July 22, 2023, to represent the Palmetto State at the Little League World Series Regional competition. Other teams attending represented North Carolina, Florida, Virginia, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Georgia. All games were aired on ESPN+, and each team's state flag is displayed on the field; and
Whereas, the members of the Trenholm Majors include Sophia Bolchoz, Olivia Buchanan, Sunny Carlisle, Gray Cobia, Kat Goff, Kaiyah Hampton, Lucy Hoppman, Ma'Khari Jones, Kayleigh Moore, Darielle Peay, Jessica Terry, Helena Wright, and Lucy Zug; and
Whereas, in a sport that requires strength, strategy, and speed, Coaches Shawn Goff and Kennedy Moore, along with Manager Cari Bolchoz, capitalized on their own athletic experience and passion to build a championship-caliber team and teach these young athletes lessons that will prove invaluable through life both on and off the diamond; and
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives appreciates the pride and recognition that the Trenholm Little League softball players have brought to their community and to the State, and the members look forward to following their continued achievements in the days ahead. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor the Trenholm Little League Majors 12U softball team and coaches for a remarkable season and congratulate them for winning the 2023 South Carolina Little League State Championship title.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Coaches Shawn Goff and Kennedy Moore.
