The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:
Our thought for today is from Psalm 5:2: "Listen to the sound of my cry, my king and my God, for to you I pray."
Let us pray. Almighty God, You who cares for each of these people, protect them from all harm and guide them this day. Give them the tools to do the work required of them. We give thanks for all Your blessings that has been bestowed on these Representatives and Staff and keep them safe. Bless our defenders of freedom and first responders as they care for us. Look in favor upon our World, Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, Staff, and all who labor in these Halls of Government. Grant Your blessings on our military and their families as they give of their time and life for the sake of our country. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayers. Amen.
Pursuant to Rule 6.3, the House of Representatives was led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America by the SPEAKER.
After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
At 10:15 a.m. the House, in accordance with the ruling of the SPEAKER, adjourned to meet at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, February 6.
