A senate RESOLUTION

 

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR Sarah Funkhouser, A first grade teacher at Woodfields Elementary School IN Greenwood SCHOOL DISTRICT 50, AND TO CONGRATULATE HER FOR BEING NAMED THE District'S 2024-2025 first-year TEACHER OF THE YEAR.

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to learn that Sarah Funkhouser has been named the First-Year Teacher of the Year for Greenwood School District 50; and

 

Whereas, intended to showcase outstanding professional educators who exemplify the ideals of the educational profession and whose efforts and example have inspired others, the First-Year Teacher of the Year Program encourages and recognizes first-year teachers who demonstrate excellence in teaching; and

 

Whereas, Sarah Funkhouser prepared for her career as an educator by earning a bachelor's degree from Lander University in Greenwood; and

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate value the work of dedicated educators in the Palmetto State, who devote themselves to our youth by helping them to prepare to become productive citizens, and especially teachers like Sarah Funkhouser, whose outstanding service has been honored with the district's 2024-2025 First-Year Teacher of the Year award. Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the Senate:

 

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, recognize and honor Sarah Funkhouser, a first-grade teacher at Woodfields Elementary School in Greenwood School District 50, and congratulate her for being named the school's district's 2024-2025 First-Year Teacher of the Year.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Sarah Funkhouser.
